Welcome to my Painting Packets page! Now you can get detailed, written instructions for my paintings that are my original compositions.
So if you couldn't attend my class, or even if you just want a refresher, here they are.
One important note: if you've
never painted before, you probably won't be able to follow along just by looking at these packets. It's really important to
take a class from a wet-on-wet oil painting instructor -- there are many good ones all over the world. Even one class is definitely
worth the expense -- nothing is better than watching somone demonstrate the techniques up close, with the chance for you
to ask questions.
Each painting packet contains the following:
* A full-color 5x7 photo of the project
* List of all supplies needed
to complete the painting
* List of colors used, along with a printed sample of each color
* Instructions for mixing any special colors
that are needed, as well as printed samples of those color mixes
*Step-by-step instructions to complete the painting, along with demo
photos
*Two pages of photos with Tips and Techniques for wet-on-wet painting
*Two line drawings of the project: one that shows
the placement of all the major elements of the composition, and the other one is a very basic drawing to get you started.
*Note
that the drawings are not intended to be patterns that you trace onto the canvas -- this doesn't work for most wet-on-wet paintings,
since your medium often covers the pattern. Instead, the drawings are meant to be guides for your reference in planning the
space on the canvas, and for placement of different objects in the painting. The drawings are half the original size, so they
can easily be enlarged by 200% if you want to look at the actual size as you paint. (Example: for a 16x20 canvas,
the drawing is 8x10.)
